These Terms of Service apply to your use of our website and to any purchases you make from us through our website. By accessing our website or placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service, together with our Privacy Policy, Refund Policy and Shipping Policy.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you should not use our website or place an order with us.
Our store is hosted by Shopify, which provides the e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products to you.

SECTION 2 — ELIGIBILITY
By using our website or placing an order, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old or have the permission of a parent or legal guardian.
You agree to provide accurate, current and complete information when placing an order or creating an account. You are responsible for keeping your account details secure and for all activity under your account.
SECTION 3 — OUR PRODUCTS
We make reasonable efforts to describe and display our products accurately. However, product colours, packaging and appearance may vary slightly depending on your device, screen settings and product availability.
Our gift boxes may include curated items from third-party brands or suppliers. Product availability may change, and we may substitute an item with another item of similar type, quality and value where necessary. We will not make a substitution that materially changes the nature of your order without contacting you where appropriate.
All product descriptions, prices and availability are subject to change at any time.
SECTION 4 — ORDERS
When you place an order, you are making an offer to buy the products in your basket.
Your order is accepted when we send you an order confirmation email. At that point, a contract is formed between you and us.
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order where necessary, including where:
- the product is unavailable;
- there is an error in the price or description;
- we suspect fraud or unauthorised activity;
- we are unable to deliver to your address;
- your payment is not authorised.
If we cancel your order after payment has been taken, we will refund you.
Please check your order carefully before submitting it. If you need to change or cancel an order, contact us as soon as possible at help@maerel.uk. We cannot guarantee that changes or cancellations can be made once an order has been processed or dispatched.
SECTION 5 — PRICES AND PAYMENT
All prices are shown in pounds sterling (£ GBP).
Unless stated otherwise, prices do not include delivery charges. Delivery costs will be shown at checkout before you place your order.
We are not currently VAT registered. This means no VAT is charged on your order.
Payment must be made at checkout using one of the payment methods available on our website. Your order will not be processed until payment has been authorised.
SECTION 6 — SHIPPING AND DELIVERY
We will deliver your order to the address provided at checkout.
Estimated delivery times are shown on our website or at checkout. Delivery times are estimates and are not guaranteed, but we will make reasonable efforts to deliver your order within the stated timeframe.
If there is a significant delay, we will contact you where possible.
Risk in the products passes to you when the products are delivered to you or to someone identified by you to receive them.
You are responsible for providing accurate delivery information. We are not responsible for failed or delayed delivery caused by incorrect or incomplete address details provided by you.
SECTION 7 — RETURNS, CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS
Your rights to cancel, return or receive a refund are set out in our Refund Policy.
For most online purchases in the UK, consumers have the right to cancel within 14 days after receiving the goods, without giving a reason. After cancelling, consumers generally have a further 14 days to return the goods. This is reflected in our Refund Policy.
Some items may not be returnable unless faulty, damaged or not as described. This may include personalised items, perishable goods, and opened or unsealed hygiene-sensitive products where they are not suitable for return for health or hygiene reasons.
Nothing in these Terms or in our Refund Policy affects your statutory rights.
SECTION 8 — FAULTY, DAMAGED OR INCORRECT ITEMS
If your order arrives damaged, faulty, incomplete or incorrect, please contact us as soon as possible at help@maerel.uk with your order number and photos of the issue.
If the product is faulty, damaged or not as described, we will offer a suitable remedy in line with your statutory rights. This may include a replacement, refund or other appropriate solution.
SECTION 9 — USE OF OUR WEBSITE
You agree not to use our website:
- for any unlawful purpose;
- to infringe our rights or the rights of others;
- to transmit viruses, malware or harmful code;
- to interfere with the operation or security of the website;
- to scrape, copy or extract content without permission;
- to submit false, misleading or fraudulent information.
We may suspend or restrict access to our website if we reasonably believe these Terms have been breached.
SECTION 10 — INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
All content on our website, including text, images, graphics, logos, product descriptions, branding and design, belongs to us or our licensors unless otherwise stated.
You may use our website for personal, non-commercial purposes only.
You must not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, publish, sell or exploit any part of our website or content without our prior written permission.
Third-party brand names, logos and trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
SECTION 11 — THIRD-PARTY BRANDS AND PRODUCTS
Some products included in our gift boxes may be made by third-party brands or suppliers.
Unless clearly stated otherwise, Maerel is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by those third-party brands.
We may refer to third-party brand names or products to accurately describe the contents of a gift box.
SECTION 12 — THIRD-PARTY LINKS AND TOOLS
Our website may contain links to third-party websites or use third-party tools and services, including Shopify and payment providers.
We are not responsible for the content, policies or practices of third-party websites or services. Your use of third-party services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
SECTION 13 — PRIVACY
Your use of our website and any personal information you provide is subject to our Privacy Policy.
Because our store is hosted by Shopify, Shopify may process certain personal information in order to provide the e-commerce platform and related services.
Please review our Privacy Policy for more information about how personal information is collected, used and shared.
SECTION 14 — REVIEWS, FEEDBACK AND USER CONTENT
If you submit reviews, feedback, photos, messages or other content to us, you confirm that you have the right to do so and that the content is accurate, lawful and does not infringe the rights of any third party.
You grant us permission to use, reproduce and display that content for the purposes of operating, improving and promoting our business, unless you tell us otherwise.
We may remove content that we consider unlawful, offensive, misleading, inappropriate or in breach of these Terms.
SECTION 15 — ERRORS AND INACCURACIES
Occasionally, information on our website may contain errors, inaccuracies or omissions relating to product descriptions, prices, availability, delivery information or promotions.
We reserve the right to correct errors, update information or cancel orders affected by an obvious error. If we cancel an order after payment has been taken, we will refund you.
SECTION 16 — LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and your statutory rights as a consumer.
We are not liable for business losses. Our products are supplied for domestic and private use only. If you use the products for commercial, business or resale purposes, we will not be liable for loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption or loss of business opportunity.
Subject to the above, we are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable at the time the contract was formed.
SECTION 17 — EVENTS OUTSIDE OUR CONTROL
We are not responsible for failure or delay caused by events outside our reasonable control. This may include postal disruption, courier delays, severe weather, strikes, supply chain disruption, technical failures, government action or other events beyond our control.
If such an event affects your order, we will contact you where reasonably possible and take steps to minimise the impact.
SECTION 18 — TERMINATION
We may suspend or terminate your access to our website if you breach these Terms or use our website unlawfully.
Any rights or obligations that by their nature should continue after termination will remain in effect.
SECTION 19 — SEVERABILITY
If any part of these Terms is found to be unlawful, invalid or unenforceable, the remaining parts will continue in full force and effect.
SECTION 20 — CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
We may update these Terms from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page.
Changes will apply from the date they are posted, unless stated otherwise. Your continued use of our website after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
SECTION 21 — GOVERNING LAW
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer, you may bring legal proceedings in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland, you may also bring proceedings in Scotland. If you live in Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in Northern Ireland.
